Most modern fillers are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that naturally occurs in the skin and helps to keep it hydrated and plump. Because HA is biocompatible, it is safely absorbed by the body over time.

The treatment itself usually takes 30–60 minutes.
A fine needle or cannula is used, and many fillers contain local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort.
Results are visible immediately, with little to no downtime—although mild swelling or bruising may occur and usually settles within a few days.

When administered by trained professionals, dermal fillers are considered a safe treatment. As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects, which will be explained to you during your consultation. After treatment, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat (such as saunas), and alcohol for 24 hours to minimise swelling or bruising.
